Mail Error

Dear Staff,

Please could you help me,?I have some troubles with my Email, and the fellowing message is displaying while I am using it.

ERROR (2): fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to localhost:25 (/var/www/html/webmail/inc/class.smtp.php:105)

Moreover, I can't send or receive any Email during the last 2 days.

Does this error message appears when you use the webmail or in your email program like thunderbird/outlook/... ?

No just with the web mail.

should I use Outlook??

Well, you should not use outlook if you does not want to use it... The webmail should be working anyway.

When exactly does this message appears ?
Could you login in the webmail ?
Could you see the content of your mailbox ?
Could you write an email and send it ?

ps. Indicating your domain name and the server on which your account is would really help the staff to help you... When you request some technical help, please be careful to write down those informations...

Yes, I can.
Could you see the content of your mailbox ?
Yes, Iam able to, and I think everything is working perfectly, except, the main features (send and receive Emails)
Could you write an email and send it ?
No, I cannot.

Is it Uebimiau ?
Did you tried RoundCube (I don't know whether or not Roundcube is available on the SK) ? If RC is installed on the SK, you could try http://www.yourdomain.tld/roundcube, of http://www.yourdomain.tld/rcube or http://www.yourdomain.tld/rc (I forgot the exact url's, please excuse me ). Be sure to replace yourdomain.tld by your own domain name, of course

Yes It's Uebimiau.
Well ,I don't think it's available on this server, because squirrelmail is installed.
yet while using Squirrelmail I have no chance to send or get any Email.
I tried with the URLs you gave me, but results.

(note that squirrelmail and roundcube could coexist on the same server )
Does this error repeats when using Squirrelmail ?
When you use Squirrelmail, do you get an error message when you try to send an email ?
Where did you buy your domain name ?
Did you tried to create an additional test email address (like test456@yourdomain.tld) ? Would you be able to send/receive emails with a newly created email address (not an alias, of course) ?

By the way, I could receive Emails when I used my web site's contact form.

So, I just don't know what I can do.

Do you receive the emails sent by other people ?
Could you answer the question of Chicoletto ? Are you on a dedicated server or a vps ? Is it really an Edelweiss server ?
(and by the way, don't you speak french ? Your website is in french...)

During 2 days I haven't received anything, and when I tried to send Emails from yahoo or Gmail, it got the same results.
About Chicoletto's Questions, actualy, I don't know, and yes, it is Edelweiss server.

Ofcourse, I can speak french, but I feel comfortable while using English.

I couldn't send Emails from my webmail and even in I try to send Email from any other mail provider like yahoo or Gmail I got the same problem
PS: I am able to send/receive Emails using yahoo or gmail.so It's not the problem with eitehr the internet or my computer.

I have just got 2 failur notice from yahoo, each one includes the same message.. and here you are a part of it:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at yahoo.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following
 addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too

so I think the problem in the SMTP of my website.

Hello

The mail server was down. A customer's website got hacked and we had to stop the mail server to remove from the mail queue tons of spam message that were overloading the system. These messages were flushed and the machine is back online.

Please check again.

Got Hacked?!!!!!! :O

Well, I though, it’ll be a mail server problem, but never thought my web site got hacked.
I think I should delete my email adr,and, because, they have infected by Email spiders robots, and during more than one year I am receiving thousands of spams every day.
I’ll replace my current Emails by other ones that it won’t be shown in my website.
Anyway, My Emails are working perfectly now,…  Thank you very much for your support.
And many thanks to everyone tried to help me
